So Gawker.tv posted about my Star Wars Subway Car video today, but instead of embedding my video from YouTube like the rest of the Internet does, they ripped it from YouTube and uploaded it to their own site without permission. So I get no credit for any of the views of the video on their site. How nice! Also, by uploading their own ripped version of the video, they can prevent me from seeing any AdSense revenue and focus on making their own money from the ads surrounding the post. Awesome! And they link to Buzzfeed at the end of the post rather than, you know, linking to the group that made the video they ripped off. Cool! Oh, and to top it off, they throw in a little snarky comment about this being an upgrade from our previous antics. Sweet!

Thanks Gawker.tv! It’s such an honor to have you take my content in full and use it for your own benefit!

UPDATE: Gawker.tv fixed this at my request.

Gorgeous photo and lighting. Shame about the signature being in the upper-right, but a tip: Change your setting to “Center” from “Fill screen” and it won’t be as much of an issue.

idsgn’s piece on the CS5 icons is lovely, but that still doesn’t change the fact that the new icons are just as gut-wrenchingly awful as they were before.

For Photoshop, I’ll still be using Sebasstian de With’s brilliant “CrashyShop” replacement icon, and I suggest you do the same.

A Brief History of the Next iPhone.

Last year, I put together a last minute “visual rumour round-up” about the next iPhone. It got ridiculously popular, and ended up appearing in Wired, Cnet, Fortune, the Houston Chronicle, Cult of Mac and the Wordpress homepage among many others. It was even translated into another language.

Earlier this year, my friend and colleague at The Green Room put a similar round-up together about the iPad, with referrals from Gizmodo, the “Billionaire Boys’ Club” and a heap of other blogs.

I was planning to do the same for iPhone 4 this year, but it looks like all the fun of guessing what Steve will introduce has been spoiled by the prototype leak that covered headlines everywhere this week. So, in place of that I present to you “A Brief History of the Next iPhone”.
